Here’s my mix from Futurhythm last night – a little bitta everything in this one. I grabbed a pile of my favourite recent finds and threw em together. The first half of the mix goes off in a bit of a dubwize direction with the vocal What’chu Know w/ MC Deviant and Breakage’s absolutely MASSIVE Staggered Dub (jus listen, you’ll see what I mean – turnitup!). Degree and Heist follow up with some bells & horns, and the two Mikal tunes are absolutely gorgeous – crisp punchy kicks and the smooth reggae vocal in Dub Stylin, and From the People with its upbeat/light melody and dark bassline – great combo. Silent Witness heavies things up, but it sneaks up on ya with the light guitar buildup. The last three tunes move in a more liquid/jazzy/lounge direction. Kubiks is easily one of my favourite producers of drum and bass, and I’m going to be looking for more from Paul T and Subwave – solid biz all around! Enjoy.
